Overview
Take this tour to drive along the most beautiful coast in Italy: the Amalfi Coast and visit also the ancient city of Pompeii on this private day tour from Naples. Go back in time with a walk through the ancient Roman streets of the archaeological site at Pompeii. Then, admire the Bay of Naples and travel to the sunny Sorrento. Enjoy the natural wonders of the Amalfi Coast, stopping along the way to snap photos of colorful Positano. Tour layout may vary due to traffic or special event on the specific day.
Please note: the first Sunday of each month, admission to Pompeii ruins is free and we can't reserve tickets in advance. They have to be bought on the spot and there will probably be a long line and there is also the possibility that tickets may sell out. In that case you'll be able to visit Herculaneum that normally is less crowded.

Journey Plan
The tour will start from Naples, as it's a private trip you will decide the pick up location, either from your hotel or any address in Naples. You will travel with an air-conditioned luxury sedan car or minivan driven by a professional English speaking local driver that will introduce you the history and main sights that you will see during your trip.
Departing from Naples we will hit first the high way and then the most scenic coastal road in Italy: The Amalfi Coast. First stop will be in Positano, a tiered village built onto the side of the cliffs with a pebble beachfront and steep, narrow streets lined with boutiques and cafes.
After we will head to Sorrento, one of the most important and beautiful towns in southern Italy. Spend some free time walking through the streets with shops selling handmade ceramics, lacework and intarsio (marquetry items), famously produced in this area.
For lunch (optional), we can suggest the best place where to eat based on your preferences, we are locals and we really would like that you enjoy the time in our area.
The last stop will be Pompeii, here you will have 2 hours to visit the UNESCO-listed ruins of Pompeii. Buried under the pumice and ash of Mt Vesuvius’ 79 AD eruption, the once-thriving city remained preserved under the rubble. Today, it offers a fascinating look into ancient Roman life (entrance ticket at own expense). We suggest you to book an expert guide in Pompeii to better understand the importance of this archaeological site, the most important in the World! Guide is not included, the cost is 160 Euro for 2 hours.
This full day tour will finish driving you back to Naples.
