Positano, Amalfi, Ravello
Rome, the eternal city, is so full of attractions of historical interest that you can spend weeks there and find something new to visit every day.
What many people don’t know is that Rome is close to wonderful places like Pompeii, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.
These places can be reached by car, plane, train, bus, but the particular conformation of the territory makes travel in these areas complicated.
With the high speed train you can reach Naples in 1 hour and 10 minutes, but then you have to change trains and take the Circumvesuviana to reach Sorrento (1h20m) and from there then continue by bus to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello (45 minutes).
The bus from Rome takes about 4 hours to reach Sorrento, while boat and plane are very expensive.
The best way to visit the Amalfi Coast in one day is certainly a private car with an expert professional driver born and raised in the area.
Booking an Amalfi Coast full-day tour from Rome, your driver in less than 3 hours will take you to this corner of paradise and you can stop whenever you want, to relax a little bit, take a drink, take some pictures or just to admire the wonderful view.
Depending on the number of people in your group, the vehicles used will be: Mercedes Sedan (1-3 pax), Mercedes Minivan (4-8 pax), Mercedes Minibus (9-20 pax).
You can customize your Rome to Positano day trip according to your needs, generally we stop in Ravello, Positano and Amalfi where you will have free time to explore the historic center of these pretty villages built on the side of the cliff, tasting the famous limoncello or for some shopping in the many shops that sell local handicrafts, such as inlaid wood, handmade ceramics, linen clothes...
Our drivers will also recommend excellent restaurants for lunch or if you prefer places to eat something fast and enjoy your visit for longer.
Along the way to reach the coast it’s possible stop in Pompeii too, where you can visit the ruins of the ancient Roman city destroyed by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius about 2000 years ago, that are considered the most well preserved Roman ruins in the world.
In Pompeii you will have about 2 hours to walk on your own or you can book one of the best expert professional tour guides that will bring back to life this fascinating city just for you on a private tour of about 2 hours.
The departure of the tour is scheduled for 7 AM, at about 10AM we will be on the Amalfi Coast and the return is scheduled for 19.30 / 20 approximately at your accommodation, so it will be really a full day tour but you’ll remember that day forever!
