Overview
Visit Naples and Pompeii in one day departing from Sorrento. A full day journey between art, folklore, archaeology and history. After leaving Sorrento from your accommodation we will tour Naples with our vehicle, you can decide where to stop and what to visit, we are at your complete disposal. On the way back to Sorrento we will stop in Pompeii to let you visit the ancient roman city. Tour layout may vary due to traffic or special events on the specific day.
Please note: On the first Sunday of each month, admission to Pompeii ruins is free and we can't reserve tickets in advance. They have to be bought on the spot and there will probably be a long line and there is also the possibility that tickets may sell out. In that case you'll be able to visit Herculaneum that normally is less crowded.

Journey Plan
The tour will start from Sorrento, as it's a private trip you will decide the pick up location, either from your hotel or any address in Sorrento or nearby towns. You will travel with an air-conditioned luxury sedan car or minivan driven by a professional English speaking local driver that will introduce you the history and main sights that you will see during your trip.
After about an hour and 30 minutes you will arrive in Naples. Here you will meet an English speaking guide which will accompany you throughout the day. Your walking tour will begin! In about 2 hours you will learn about the history of Naples and visit the most important sights in the city, like: Cappella San Severo with the Veiled Christ, the Church of Gesù Nuovo, San Gregorio Armeno, Santa Chiara cloister, etc...
PIZZA! Once in Naples you have to taste the real pizza, we will suggest you some of the most important pizzeria in Naples where you can enjoy the real Margherita (pizza with fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, olive oil and basil), the queen of any pizza!
After you pizza (optional) we will drive you to Pompeii, here you will have 2 hours to vist the UNESCO-listed ruins of Pompeii. Buried under the pumice and ash of Mt Vesuvius’ 79 AD eruption, the once-thriving city remained preserved under the rubble. Today, it offers a fascinating look into ancient Roman life (entrance ticket at own expense). We suggest you book an expert guide in Pompeii to better understand the importance of this archaeological site, the most important in the World! Guide is not included, the cost is 160 Euro for 2 hours.
This full day tour will finish driving you back to Sorrento.
